Once you've eaten enough grass, there's nothing like a snooze in the sun. If you are covered in wool, like a sheep, this is OK, but apparently pale human skin does not respond kindly to the sun's rays. Why is this?

The sun produces lots of different types of rays, some you can see and some you can't. It is some of those you can't see that do the damage. Take a look at this animation to find out more:
